Moss Roses for Victoria!
I've posted a little bit of my collection of Moss Rose china for Victoria Tuesday! Make sure you meet Lovie ... he's my ceramic dove and you'll see him in future postings.
Victoria taught us how to love all things beautiful ... and I've been putting this china pattern in that category since I was just five years old! Make sure you click through to my website and read about my newest cookbook. You might need a copy of Autumn Affairs or Santa Suppers Revisited. Both books have beautiful pictures, great menus and recipes that are tried and true.
You'll also want to click through to see the other Victoria posts.

I Saved Some Big Pennies!
I'm posting for the Penny Pinching party today! I found a real bargain on whole lobster and loaded the freezer with those bright red babies! Make sure you click through the favicon on the lower left to visit the hostess and see lots more ways to save money. My suggestion is to scan those grocery store ads closely and look for the less likely things you expect to find! Miss Phoebe was happy that Gwamma found a deal!

A Tribute to Victoria Magazine!
I've posted photographs from a wedding exhibit held a year ago at the General John A. Logan Museum in Murphysboro, Illinois. The Civil War General's wife … who always referred to herself as Mrs. John A. Logan ... and never used her first name ... was an expert on etiquette during the Victorian era. She was an author and published one of the first American ladies’ magazines in the late 1800’s. I think Mary Logan would have loved Victoria!
Aren’t we lucky to have magazines … and especially magazines like Victoria. I especially remember the beautiful holiday issues … and one of my favorite Thanksgiving traditions was introduced in an early Victoria magazine. The story suggested that we traditionalists try at least one new thing on the annual Thanksgiving dinner menu. Several recipes were provided and I made one … tiny onion tarts. My dad, who had eaten the same Thanksgiving menu his whole life (short of the time he was in WWII) loved them and they became a new tradition on the annual menu!
