Here, in Southern Illinois, we are blessed to have a young family operated business that makes incredible packaged spice blends. They are delicious! They ship, so regardless of where you are, you can try them! Check out The Jay Effect!
Here is one of many recipes I've created to use their spice blends. You'll love it.
Chicken & Cauliflower
This Sunday Dinner recipe is made better with The Jay
Effect Garlic & Herb seasoning! I use my air fryer oven and my Ninja pot
which goes from braising to a crock pot, so it is easy on preparation time!
Begin by dredging six chicken pieces first in egg and
milk whisked together, then dipped in flour.
Season the meat generously with The Jay Effect. Braise it in a couple Tablespoons of olive
oil to brown it, then add 2 Tablespoons of flour to the olive oil to make a
light roux. Add 1 ½ cups of chicken
broth and ½ cup of white wine and a sprig of Rosemary. Using the crockpot setting, cook high for 1
hour. The broth will have thickened, and
the chicken will be “fall off the bone” tender.
While the chicken is slow cooking, use the air fryer
oven to start the cauliflower. Separate
a small cauliflower into flowerets. Put them
on a sheet pan and drizzle them with olive oil.
Sprinkle them generously with The Jay Effect and cook them for 15
minutes at 360 degrees. Add them to the
crockpot of chicken and let them finish cooking.
Serve the chicken and cauliflower. Serve the sauce over noodles or rice. Add a colorful garnish to your plate, because
it will be “all beige” otherwise!
Enjoy!
